Er...
Tricked you :-?

Not a games night as such, in fact a cry for help from a techno-phobe :-P <<puppy eyes.

Last night I thought I would get some Black Ops practice in on the PS3. It then proceeded to tell me that my NAT settings were Moderate and it may cause problems...

So I went into my internet connection thingy and accidentally wiped everything

for those that know me from here can vouch I am a bit of an idiot when it comes to these things.
These are my settings now

But I don't have a clue what any of it means, how I get into my router. I don't know anything

If anyone from here were to be around on twitter tomorrow at 7pm?
You will need the patience of a saint and be able to speak computer language like you're training a monkey.

I will try and do some research first, then will fire questions out and take pictures as I go along.

What a great game!

The winner will get Karma (not site Karma, it's broken) and merit for the next life.

Ta 8-)

It's a D-LinkDIR-615.

I don't want to play tonight though, had a crappy day and full of headache and tenseness. Recipe for disaster :-D

Most BT and Virgin ( Netgear) Routers are causing this due to the Nat types on the router. This should hopefully get patched in the next update. If you need more information about this. Go to Callofduty.com and try get in touch of a deveolper.

Cheers chaps. I did wonder that it might be CoD as it has always been open in the past.

but now the picture I posted with the settings, do I need to change them back, despite having Type 2 NAT?

Your NAT is ALWAYS shafted on BLOPS mate. I did the same thing and had to reset it all, there's no way to fix it. It's a problem with the game on PSN, there's nothing you can do. It will always, always be strict.

Oh dear!
I always knee jerk like that, anyhow's....hopefully it should be alright then.

The amount of times I have wiped my PC over something stoopid is mind-boggling

Also a note as well as opening your ports on the router, some people recommend getting your ps3 sitting in the DMZ so no firewall protection, I've tried this a few times and found no issues with connecting/hosting.

Personally I would try everything behind your firewall such as opening ports, using upnp etc, but there will be a few of us on here to lend advice and get your issues resolved 

That's what I done when I set it up and have a feeling I should again.

Will give this thread and twitter a nudge tomorrow and see if I can sort it out and return the settings.

cheers for the help so far. :ugeek:
