looking to get an additional tv (cheap as possible) purely just for PS3, and wondered if a monitor with HDMI would be a better option.

Anyone know if which one is better to get? as monitors seem to be a bit cheaper

btw this isnt for me, its basically for my kids when they stay over and bring their ps3's, to save lugging their tvs over to play.

any advice will be much appreciated :-)

Benq monitors are really good but mines hooked up to a TV solely because of having a blu ray player in the bedroom

Don't forget about sound though.
I ran my 360 through a monitor in the early days and thought I was saving money, then realised they have no speakers that a console can play through and it ended up costing me more.

You can pick normally find a pretty cheap TV that is decent enough, and the sound issue is important to think about.

yh just been looking over the past few days and seen some cheap tvs that seem to do the job, but again im just looking for cheap as chips option, so yh as mentioned by a few re: sound, think maybe tv is the better option.

Many TVs will output the 5.1 that comes into them via HDMI out the back through then optical out - perfect for multi-console gaming.

Also, with a TV it's easier to switch inputs using the remote!

Samsung are well rated, only think I'd say against that one is only one HDMI, but you can always get a switch.
