Thanks for the reply chaps, very tempted to just go for Apple TV really, does anyone know if it a new version was mention at the recent press release as part of iOS release and Mac OS etc

I don't think it was.

One point, you can usually use the Apple adaptors to connect an iPad or iPhone to a TV using HDMI or VGA, as a way of seeing stuff on the big screen. But AirPlaying to AppleTV works really we for me, so I'd go with that. You can usually use the Home Sharing in iTunes to browse all the content on you mac's library, and play that on your AppleTV.

Just find the cheapest way possible to get one, eBay, CeX or whatever. I'm sure they're $99 dollars in teh US, know anyone going soon?

Yh I have an adapter for the iPad but as hdmi cable isn't to long have to move my arse to make any changes lol.

I shall start keeping my eye out on cheap Apple TV over the coming weeks, but know Sod's law once I get one, a new one will be release and they will be cheap as chips......ok not that cheap but cheaper, cheapish :)

Just remembered apple do the refurb stuff so just checked and doing Apple TV £75 says it's release mar 2012 so I'm guessing that's 3rd gen???

But while looking I also see AirPort Extreme base station :) that's going for £69 and could do with a new adsl router anyway, does day original release June 2011, so not sure what gen this is? But guessing it can't be that bad, and obviously both come with apple warranty for a year at least

£75 isn't bad for an AppleTV. Don't think the Airport has a an ADSL modem in it.

I think we are due another release of Apple products soon, so its up to you if you want to wait. I know Play are selling the 2012 model of Apple TV for £80 (new rather than refurb)

Yh I've heard rumours of a new Apple TV coming and it's possibly gonna be called something else and also the speculation is it's gonna be a like a console in a way, how true that is I have no idea, but yh I know a few people who have brought returns from apple have said they are pretty much new, but guess extra £5 and it's brand new from play.

J E Blues - yh I forgot I need additional modem, but yh have seen previous posts regards group on doing offers on Apple TV, shall have to check them and see if any current ones are going as well.

What I do know it's gonna be Sod's law, when I buy one, that's when apple announce the new version ;)
