Fucking Admiral...........quoted me £728 to renew and finding the same on confused comes in at a shade under £500. Wankers....just trying to cash in people's laziness and absolutely no sense of shame when you tell them.

Just makes me mad that I've got to spend half an hour on the phone sorting it out because they're too lazy to offer their best price straight away

Confused and admiral used to be one and the same and if you used their sites expect to get spammed with calls offering you better deals, I used to shop around but the company I am with now always seems to beat the other quotes I get

The insurance cartel has genuinely frightening, every year I get scared that I wont be able to afford it anymore, despite no-claims in only ever goes up.

I couldn't agree more, I now pay more than when I first started driving and have a clean record as well

I had been driving a company car for 10 years until recently so never had to worry about insurance. But when the time came to change jobs I almost shit myself when it cost a £900 to insure a 10 year old piece of shit car!

Has gone down now I've got some no claims and been able to shop around (quote me happy were best for me). Don't forget to check for any cash back deals on Quidco / TopCashback, can usually get around £50 back :-D

Safety Features are taken consideration even more so.

My insurance hasn't increased but it hasn't gone down either.

Depending on what make/model car you have, its worth joining an enthusiast website as those sort of sites have insurance brokers looking for business and often offer a discount if your a member.

Im with Chris Knott Insurance and they have beaten every compare the market etc etc search i've ever done. Past 2 years compare searches have produced £1000 for me but i currently pay just under £700.

Ill be looking to change this year to a broker from one of these car sites as they seem to be cheaper still.

Did you get your ten years of company car driving converted into no claims year? I was able to get all my company car year credited when I switched into owning my own.

Nah, the places that would take my company car history were ridiculously expensive

At least you guys don't have to pay £1800 for a Rover 25 :P

Thank god I gave up on driving and stuck with the bike. £300 fully comp, that will do me.

My renewal was only 600 quid full comp this year but Im low mileage and the car is 10 years old now. My uncle only pays ~£160 third party for a similar car but is old and has a HGV licence.

I'd assume I would only get 1-2k from insurance so Im thinking about switch. Anyone here have experience with 3rd party only insurance?
